The Parent/Tot class teaches caregivers how to introduce their child to swimming. Parents learn proper holds and how to move with their child in the water. Children learn introductory swimming and safety skills through a variety of songs, games, and positive encouragement. The group class provides for socialization and water exploration for children and caregivers in an ideal water depth of 0 to 3.5 feet. An adult is required to accompany each child in the water and participate in every class. 15:2 swimmer to instructor class ratio. Eight 30-minute classes per session. Prerequisites: Children who are not toilet-trained must wear a swim diaper. No previous swim experience is required for child or adult.
